Shell Thailand expects lubricant sales growth via online sales
Shell of Thailand expects accelerated sales growth in premium lubricants via online sales and the appointment of DKSH (Thailand) as the official distributor to auto parts stores and garages nationwide, The Nation reports. “This new strategy for lubricant sales this year will help us achieve our targets and expand the market for high performance lubricants. The overall lubricant market is expected to grow 4%, and I’m confident Shell will outperform that,” Chairwoman Pissawan Achanapornkul said. The company forecasts overall lubricant consumption at 450 million liters this year. Thailand’s lube consumption had increased 6% year-on-year in the first quarter. Due to the political turmoil in the country which led to the decline in tourist arrivals, lubricant sales were expected to drop by 10% in the second quarter. (May 14, 2010)
