Shell, Petronas keen on 88 RON

Shell and Petronas are keen to start retailing 88 RON gasoline in Indonesia at market prices, says BPHMigas Chairman Tubagus Haryono. “I think it’s better to allow foreign players to sell 88 RON gasoline at market price. Let the public choose, Tubagus said. State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina is currently the sole provider of the lower-octane grade gasoline, which sells at the subsidized price of Rp 4,500/liter (US$0.50/liter) and accounts for around 95% of gasoline sales in Indonesia.
