Shell opens its largest grease plant in China
Shell celebrated the opening of its 18th lubricating grease plant on January 18, which was attended by Zhuhai local government officials, senior Shell representatives, business partners and customers.
Located in Zhuhai, China, and also Shell’s largest worldwide, the plant will make a range of lithium, lithium calcium and lithium complex greases used mainly in passenger cars and industrial bearing lubrication.
It has a production capacity of 30,000 tons a year, with the potential to be expanded to 40,000 tons. It is primarily designed to meet China’s growing demand for lubricating greases.
Shell did not disclose the amount of its investment for this grease plant.
