Shell Lubricants and Kia Motors Europe extend technical partnership

Shell Lubricants and Kia Motors Europe have renewed their technical partnership agreement, reconfirming Shell Lubricants as the car manufacturer’s preferred European motor oil supplier. The initial five-year agreement has now been extended to December 2016.
The collaboration between the two companies began in 2009 and offers a wide range of benefits to customers at all levels, including owners of Kia vehicles and Kia’s distributors and dealers. Under the agreement, Shell will be providing lubricants training to further enhance the technical knowledge of Kia mechanics and service advisers, and will also be part of the Kia Board of Winners event. For customers, engine oil change stickers and oil top-up kits will be provided to raise awareness of how motor oil keeps their Kia engine running smoothly.

Kia’s customers are also encouraged to make use of Shell’s free online service, Shell LubeMatch, which allows users to match the correct lubricant to their vehicles, and offers a vast data bank on engines, lubricants, and oils, including the quantities required and suggested oil drain intervals. Shell LubeMatch is also available as part of the Shell Lubricants app for Apple and Android-based smartphones, giving easy access to information on the move.
Technicians and service advisers from Kia’s franchise workshops have the opportunity to participate in Kia’s national and European dealer contest. A new Shell Lubricants prize has been added into the Kia Board of Winners award ceremony. This activity identifies and rewards the best Kia technicians and service advisers upon successful completion of a number of challenges, including those on lubricants.
