Shell India Chairman Vikram Singh Mehta to retire in October

Shell India announced that its chairman, Vikram Singh Mehta, who has served the energy group for 24 years, will retire in October. He will be succeeded by Yasmine Hilton who is currently based in London. Hilton, who has a PhD in genetics, and has been working with the Shell Group since 1979. She will relocate to India in September. “Since 1993, Vikram has significantly enabled growth across diverse Shell businesses in India and has set a strong platform for future expansion,” the company stated. Shell is the only major international energy company in India, which has a license to retail petrol, diesel, ATF and specialty products such as lubricants and bitumen. The company also owns one liquefied natural gas terminal at Hazira, which is a joint venture with Total of France. (April 13, 2012)
