Shanghai Feihe to build auto plant in Jingzhou

Shanghai Feihe Industrial Group has signed an agreement with the municipal government of Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, China, to build an automotive plant in the city. The project will cover an area of 165 acres and cost 2 billion yuan (US$295.81 million) to build. It will have an annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles, with main products being seven models of sedans and trucks running on either diesel fuel or gasoline. Phase 1 of the project will cost 350 million yuan (US$51.77 million) and is designed with an annual production capacity of 30,000-50,000 vehicles. Construction will start in September 2010. Production is expected to start by the end of August 2012. ( September 10, 2010)
