Scania allows use of B100
Sweden’s Scania has become one of the first truck makers in Australia to fully embrace the use of biodiesel fuel by broadening the use of biodiesel blends in its trucks and buses. Scania operators were previously limited to B5, a blend of 5% biodiesel with 95% petroleum-based diesel fuel. The company has now approved the use of any blend. Anyone who plans to switch to biodiesel has to make sure the fuel they use meets the applicable fuel standards. This is good news for truck operators and good news for the environment,” Scania National Sales and Marketing Manager John Kananghinis says. It means operators who want to use the fuel face few restrictions. So long as an operator’s engine is fitted with a modern fuel-injection system and the fuel they are using meets the Australian fuel standard or the European biodiesel standard, they can use biodiesel with confidence.
