San Carlos Bioenergy expands ethanol plant

San Carlos Bioenergy Inc. (SCBI) Chairman Jose Maria Zabaleta said his company will expand its fuel-grade ethanol capacity by 66.7%, or 50,000 liters per day, to 125,000 liters per day. SCBI’s 75,000 liter-per-day ethanol plant is located in San Carlos City in the province of Negros Occidental in the Philippines. Expansion of the plant, which uses molasses as feedstock, is expected to be completed by September. (April 23, 2012)
