Samsung Total enters LPG market

Chief Executive Officer Yoo Suk-ryul of Samsung Total Petrochemicals Co. announced the completion of Korea’s largest liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank in Daesan, South Chungcheong, a coastal city 137 kilometers southwest of Seoul in Korea. The 50 billion won (US$41.11 million) LPG tank measures 58 meters in diameter and 40 meters in height and can store as much as 40,000 metric tons of LPG, making it the country’s single largest LPG storage facility, according to Samsung Total. Samsung Total is a 50-50 joint venture between Samsung Group and Total SA of France. (May 28, 2010)
