S-Oil appoints Nasser Al-Mahasher as CEO

South Korea’s S-Oil Corp. appointed Nasser Al-Mahasher, a senior Saudi Aramco official in Tokyo, as its new chief executive officer. The company’s board of directors and shareholder have approved the appointment of the 52-year-old Saudi national, who has held key positions in refining, corporate and marketing operations of Saudi Aramco since joining the company in 1990. His most recent position was president of Saudi Petroleum Limited Tokyo, a unit of Saudi Aramco. Al-Mahasher succeeds Ahmed Subaey. Saudi Aramco Overseas Company, which owns 35% of S-Oil, is the largest stakeholder in the South Korean refiner. (March 26, 2012)
