Rosneft refinery starts production of Euro 5 diesel fuel

Rosneft has started delivering Euro 5 fuel produced at its Novokuybyshevsk refinery to the Moscow, Bryansk, Smolensk, Arkhangelsk and Murmansk regions, as well as the Krasnodar territory. The Euro 5 fuel will be sold through its own distribution network. This has been made possible after the modernization of its refinery under Rosneft’s US$25 billion investment program. Aside from the modernization plan, the program also involves the construction of a catalytic reforming complex, a low-temperature isomerization complex and a hydrocracking complex. The company will also undertake construction and reconstruction of 43 infrastructure and offsite facilities. The completion of all projects is set for 2017.

Rosneft manages seven large oil refineries: Komsomolsk, Tuapse, Novokuybyshevsk, Kuybyshevsk, Syzran, Achinsk and Angarsk Petrochemical Company. The output from the four mini refineries it owns in Western and Eastern Siberia, Timano-Pechora and the southern European parts of Russia meets the needs of Rosneft’s production businesses. The company also holds a 50% stake in the Strezhevsky mini refinery in West Siberia. (January 25, 2013)
