Rivers is new CEO

New Zealand Refining Company has appointed Ken Rivers as its new chief executive. Rivers is general manager of Shell’s Stanlow Refinery and Petrochemical Complex in Britain and is a past president of the U.K. Petroleum Industry Association. He recently chaired the joint industry/regulator task group responding to the findings of the Buncefield terminal fire investigation. NZ Refining Chairman Ian Farrant said the board believed Rivers would continue to build on the company’s operational and performance improvements. He will succeed Jerome Kerrigan from August 16.
