Research program to boost Thailands biofuel policy
Thailands Energy Ministry and the Basic Education Commission have jointly launched a biofuel research program to produce ethanol from sea algae, biodiesel from sorghum, and biogas and bio-oil from palm oil, to address demand in the transport industry. Deputy Director-General of the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency Twarath Sutabutr said the research would support the countrys national policy to produce more biofuel. Demand for green fuel in aviation and other transport industries is expected to increase sharply in Thailand over the next two years, he said. ( August 19, 2010)
