Renault says partnership with Bajaj “a business of opportunities”
In India, French automaker Renault is developing an ultra-low cost (ULC) vehicle with Bajaj Auto, in conjunction with Nissan. Bajaj is responsible for the “upstream activities” such as research and development, the sourcing and manufacturing of the ULC. Marc Nassif, country managing director for Renault India, said the partnership with Bajaj is a “business of opportunities.” He said, “When Bajaj shows it to us and if it matches our DNA, we’ll go for it. If it doesn’t, we’ll find other solutions.” The car is scheduled to launch in 2012. (May 24, 2011)
