PTT to begin phasing out benzene gas

Thai petrol giant PTT Public Co. Ltd. is planning to phase out benzene 91 and 95 within the next few years. PTT President Prasert Bunsumpun stated that the company will gradually replace benzene 91 and 95 with gasohol over the coming years, but noted no exact time frame for the substitution can be specified yet. PTT will adjust its sales according to customer demand. Prasert said the local sentiment is currently leaning towards alternative fuels like E20 and E85, which would make Thailand one of the few countries with such a high ethanol blend, similar to Brazil.
