PTT prepares for boom in E20 demand
PTT Plc plans to increase the availability of ethanol-based E85 to 15 stations from only four available now, and is also considering more E20 stations. Currently, PTT operates a total of 1,200 stations, with only four offering gasohol E85, a blend of 85% ethanol with 15% petrol. Meanwhile, it has 161 stations that sell E20 with 20% ethanol content. Prajya Phinyawat, senior executive vice president of PTT, said the company’s E20 sales rose 80% from a year earlier to 4.6 million liters in April, while E85 sales rose to 50,000 liters from just 6,000 liters.
