PTT Aromatics looks into producing biofuel for aviation
PTT Aromatics and Refining Plc, Thailand’s largest aromatics maker, is studying the potential of producing biofuel for aviation, says President and Chief Executive Officer Chainoi Puenkosoom. “We are currently in the process of working with the Energy Ministry on a biofuel project, which will concentrate on green jet fuel,” said Chainoi. In the next two years, airplanes that fly into Europe will need to use biofuel or pay carbon credits. Producing aviation biofuel would put Thailand in a leading position in the global green fuel industry. (April 30, 2010)
