PSA Peugeot-Citroen to halve CO2 emissions
French original equipment manufacturer PSA Peugeot-Citroen aims to halve CO2 emissions at its China-made vehicles over the next 10 years, reports Xinhua’s China Economic Information Service. As part of its plans, PSA will initially upgrade powertrains used in its locally made vehicles to achieve emissions targets in line with the impending China IV standards. The auto maker will strive to launch at least six new fuel-efficient gasoline (petrol) engines by 2020, which will reduce CO2 emissions by 20% in comparison to their predecessors. The company expects its upcoming Hybride4 technology, to be launched in China during 2015, to generate 30% less CO2 emissions. (December 23, 2009)
