PNOC-AFC signs MOA for Bohol jatropha project

Philippine National Oil Co.-Alternative Fuels Corp. (PNOC-AFC) has signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Bohol provincial government for a major project that will see the province setting aside 10,000 hectares for a jatropha plantation, with a Php25 million (US$526,250.02) funding from PNOC-AFC. The jatropha will be used for the production of biodiesel. The MOA was signed on July 21 by PNOC-AFC Chief Executive Officer Romeo Tolentino and Bohol Governor Erico Aumentado, witnessed by Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. (July 20, 2009)
