Phoenix to open new oil terminal

Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc. said it will start operating an oil terminal in Batangas province in June to support its expansion activities in the retail sector. The 50-million-liter warehouse will be located within the Batangas Union Industrial Park in Calaca town and will serve as the base for the company’s retail distribution network in the island of Luzon. It will also guarantee the continued supply of fuel to the consuming public through the storage and terminalling business of the company. Based in Davao City in the island of Mindanao, Phoenix is primarily engaged in the wholesale trading of refined petroleum products, lubricants and other chemical products, as well as in the storage and terminal business in southern Philippines. It had earlier expressed interest in putting up its own biodiesel and ethanol blending plant. The company revealed it is also planning to put up 50 new retails stations in the main Philippine island of Luzon in 2010. (April 30/May 1/4, 2009)
