Phoenix plans to join "big league" in 4 years
Dennis A. Uy, chief executive officer of Phoenix Petroleum, said that in four years’ time, the Davao-based company will be ready to compete with the big three–Shell, Petron and Caltex–in line with its objective of becoming one of the country’s dominant independent oil players. Uy said the company is still pursuing its plan to build 30 to 50 new stations nationwide every year, a long way from the initial five stations in the Davao region and Northern Mindanao a couple of years back. Phoenix Petroleum Marketing Officer Neb Bulaclac earlier said that by the end of 2012, the firm expects to have opened a total of 400 retail stations. (December 23, 2009)
