Philippine carmakers want import ban on used vehicles
The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) urged Philippine government officials to support completely knocked down (CKD) manufacturing in the country by strictly implementing the import ban on used vehicles. CAMPI is composed of 13 major vehicle companies, including Asian Carmakers Corp. (BMW), Columbian Autocar Corp. (Kia), General Motors Automobiles Philippines Inc., Honda Cars Philippines Inc., Hyundai Asia Resources Inc., Isuzu Philippines Corp., Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp., Nissan Motor Philippines, Inc., PGA Cars Inc. (Porsche and Audi), Scandinavian Motors Corp. (Volvo), Toyota Motor Philippines Corp., Universal Motors Corp. (Nissan LCVs) and Suzuki Philippines, Inc. (February 14, 2009)
