PetroSetco to build 6 ethanol plants

State-run PetroVietnam Tourism Service JSC (PetroSetco), a shareholding company which has PetroVietnam as its biggest shareholder, said it plans to build six plants to produce ethanol in Vietnam, with its first plant to be built in 2008. The two companies expect to spend US$100 million to build the bio-ethanol plant with an annual capacity of 100 million liters of ethanol, 190 tons of CO2 and 120 tons of raw materials for animal feed per day. PetroSetco has recently conducted a survey to find a suitable location for the plant, in both the Tay Son district and Nhon Hoa industrial zone in An Nhon district, said Nguyen Thanh Hai, director of the Binh Dinh Investment Promotion Center.
