Petronas tasks with 200 NGV stations
Petronas had been directed by the Malaysian government to have 200 stations ready for natural gas vehicles (NGVs) in a bid to encourage gas use in vehicles, the Dewan Rakyat was told. Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad, said currently there are 73 such stations operating and two more would be ready in May. “Twenty-five NGV stations will be ready by the end of this year while 100 more will be ready in 2009,” Shahrir said.
