Petronas Lubricants to invest €70 million in Turin R&D center
Petronas Lubricants International (PLI), a unit of Malaysia’s state-owned Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) plans to invest €70 million to expand its research activities in Santena, Turin province, at the former site of Fiat Lubrificanti.
The new center, which will employ more than 100 people, should be completed within two and a half to three years, PLI CEO Amir Hamzah Azizan told Radiocor news agency.
The project involves the construction of a new building that will house the lubricants research and development (R&D) center.
Although the automotive industry is currently in crisis, Europe is a very important area in terms of technology and therefore it remains fundamental for development, Azizan said.
