Petronas lubricants debut in Japan

Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) made its debut in the Japanese lubricants market with the launch of its range of premium-grade engine oils. In a statement on January 12, Petronas said the debut of the Syntium products in Japan provided an excellent opportunity to tap a vibrant lubricants market, currently the fourth largest in the world. Petronas said it would distribute the lubricants via one-stop car center networks in Nagoya and Tokyo, and subsequently to other parts of Japan by Magna International Ltd. It said Magna would distribute Syntium 5000 SM 0W30, Syntium 3000 SM 5W40, Syntium 1000 SM 10W40 and Syntium 800 SM 10W40 through its one-stop car center networks in Japan. Petronas said all products in the Syntium range have been specially engineered using race-proven Formula One technology developed through its involvement in the sport. (January 12, 2007)
