Petronas eyes petrol pumps business in India
Malaysia’s Petroleum Nasional Berhad (Petronas) is negotiating with the Government of India to enter the petroleum marketing business in the country. The company proposes to set up petrol pumps across India with an initial investment of Rs25, 000 crores (US$6.25 billion). Petronas Marketing India Private Ltd., the marketing subsidiary of Petronas, has launched Petronas’ lubricant products in India, targeted at the domestic automotive sector. (September 9, 2007)
