Petronas Dagangan eyes regional airports to expand jet fuel segment

Petronas Dagangan Bhd, the domestic marketing arm of Malaysia’s Petronas, is currently planning to reach out to several regional airports as part of its plan to further expand its jet fuel segment.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Aminul Rashid Mohd Zamzam said the company is pursuing several airports, mainly in Asia, but also some outside the region. These remarks were made at the CIMB Annual Asia Pacific Conference held on June 19.
“The whole idea is to provide the main customers that we have in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) an opportunity for us to serve them in some of the other routes that they are taking.โ€
Petronas Dagangan already provides refueling services at London’s Heathrow and Hong Kong airport for Malaysia Airlines, Zamzam said.
On domestic expansion, he said the company is on track to achieve its target of opening 60 new petrol stations this year.
He also expressed confidence in the progress of its LubeXperts workshop program in the company’s lubricants segment, which aims for 40 new workshops by year-end.
“We already have around four LubeXperts workshops in operation. The involvement with the F1 team to further promote the lube products gives us renewed confidence, and we believe we can offer high-quality products to our customers,” he added.
The completion of the 40 new workshops would positively contribute to the segment’s growth, increasing the company’s market share by 1-2% in the next financial year from 24% currently, he said.
