Petron reports 2,025 service stations now in operation across the Philippines

Petron Corporation, the Philippines’ leading oil refining and marketing company announced that as of this year’s third quarter, its number of service stations has reached 2,025 across the country, by far the largest in the industry. The company embarked on a massive network expansion program in 2009, aimed at providing more Filipinos access to its top-of-the line products and services. The company has since increased the number of its service stations by nearly 60%, with more service stations in various stages of development and construction.
Petron service stations are operated in partnership with Filipino entrepreneurs. The company now enjoys a leadership position in the industry with a market share of 38.3% as of the first quarter of 2012. Petron Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ramon S. Ang said that parallel to its expansion program, the company is also undertaking a major facility upgrade at its Bataan refinery, which currently produces 180,000 barrels per day of refined products. After the upgrades, the refinery will be able to convert its remaining fuel oil production into white products and petrochemicals that will provide higher margins. (October 10, 2012)
