Petrolimex and Kien Giang to build petrol base in Mekong Delta

Vietnam National Petroleum Corp. (Petrolimex) and Kien Giang Trade & Tourism Company Ltd. (KTC) will join forces to build a VND300 billion (US$14.4 million) petrol base depot in the province of Kien Giang in the Mekong Delta. The depot will have a wharf for ships weighting over 10,000 tons and a capacity of 100,000 cubic meters. KTC Chairman Lieu Van Lo said there will be two phases in the construction of the 20-hectare facility. Petrolimex holds 60% of the domestic market share in Vietnam and is currently the biggest fuel trader in the county and owns 2,016 petrol stations and outlets. KTC has 13 companies which trades fuel, farm products and seafood. It owns 20 petrol stations, five fuel stations and 80 agencies in the Kien Giang province. (October 21, 2011)
