Petrol depot gets green light

Authorities in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang have recently given the green light to the Mekong Petroleum Joint Stock Co. to build a petroleum base depot worth 450 billion dong (US$25.22 million) in the locality, the Labor newspaper said. The depot, named Soai rap–Petromekong, will be located on a 42-hectare area at Cho hamlet in the Vam Lang commune of Go Cong Dong district. The depot will have a storage capacity of 160,000 cubic meters once fully operational in 2012. (August 10, 2009)
