PetroChina to install hydrogenation units in Lanzhou
PetroChina will install hydrogenation units at its 10.50 million ton per year Lanzhou refinery in northwest China, a move that will boost the refinery’s product quality to meet Euro 3 emission standards. Parent company CNPC said PetroChina is doing the preliminary work. The hydrogenation units will allow the refinery to produce 1.8 million metric tons annually of cleaner gasoline and three million tons of cleaner diesel fuel. China has set a target to have all refineries produce fuels that meet Euro 3 emissions standard at a minimum before the year end. (July 6, 2010)
