PetroChina to build lab at Shanghai university

PetroChina Kunlun Lubricant Co. Ltd., in conjunction with Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJU), will build a new automotive lubricant laboratory at the Shanghai University campus. Both parties agreed to work cooperatively on designing an electric vehicle transmission system for testing purposes, supported by SJU’s national engineering laboratory. The two organizations will also conduct research on new energy vehicles. Under the terms of the agreement, both PetroChina and SJU will contribute researchers, expertise and technology to the lab. General manager of Kunlun Lubricant, Liao Guoqin, said the project will not only improve the lubricant quality in China, but will also help develop new technology. (August 16, 2011)
