PetroChina refineries increase production in October to cope with diesel shortage

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), China’s largest oil and gas producer and parent company of Petrochina, said that since mid-October, its refineries have increased diesel production output so that it would be able to cope with supply shortage in the country. As a result, 1.00385 million metric tons of crude oil were processed at Petro China Lanzhou Petrochemical Co. in October. In the same month, PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical Co. processed 855,000 tons and produced 136,500 tons of gasoline and 380,800 tons of diesel. Meanwhile, PetroChina Daqing Petrochemical Co. produced 1.25 million tons of gasoline and 2.14 million tons of diesel in the first 10 months of 2011. (November 7, 2011)
