PetroChina appoints new CFO

PetroChina has appointed Zhou Mingchun as the company’s new chief financial officer, replacingWang Guoliang. Zhou will be responsible for the accounts of the world’s second-biggest oil producer by market value. Zhou, 40, has nearly 20 years of working experience in China ‘s oil and gas industry. He has been the director of the Finance Division and the director of Financial Settlement Center concurrently of Daqing Petroleum Administration Bureau from October 1998, the leader of Finance & Assets Division of Daqing Oilfield Company from September 1999, the director and deputy chief accountant of Daqing Oilfield Company from January 2000, the director and chief accountant of Daqing Oilfield Company from October 2000, and the general manager of the Finance Department of the company from March 2002. His appointment as CFO took effect in June. (July 5, 2007)
