Petrobras JV to add second E3 station in Japan

A 50-50 joint venture between Brazilian state-controlled oil company Petrobras and Japan Alcohol Trading will start selling E3 (3% ethanol blend) at an independent gasoline station in Toyohashi, Aichi prefecture in central Japan. This will be the second independent service station for the Brazil-Japan Ethanol venture. The venture’s E3 gasoline sales are part of an on-going pilot project sponsored by Japan’s environment ministry that originally began in 2007 which will continue to March 2012. (October 27, 2009)
