Pertamina seeks partner for paraffin plant

Indonesia’s state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina is seeking a partner to build a US$200 million paraffin plant in a bid to optimize refinery production, the company’s President Director, Ari Soemarno said. “We may seek a partner to build a 150,000 metric ton per year paraffin plant,” he said. Construction of the proposed plant is to start by 2009 and the plant will be on stream by 2012, Soemarno said. The project will be sited at Pertamina’s Dumai refinery in Sumatra province.
