Pertamina, Petronas in retail gasoline deal
Indonesia’s Pertamina and Malaysia’s Petronas are teaming up to provide high-octane gasoline in Indonesia, Pertamina’s Trading and Marketing Director Achmad Faisal said. Pertamina will supply 92 and 95 RON (research octane number) gasoline to Petronas’ gasoline stations in Jakarta and surrounding areas from its Balongan refinery in West Java and its Plaju refinery in South Sumatra, while Petronas will supply to Pertamina’s stations in northern Sumatra from its refineries in Malacca, Faisal said. Petronas’ gasoline stations in Jakarta and surrounding areas require 2,500 kiloliters per month of high-octane gasoline. Pertamina needs as much for its gasoline stations in northern Sumatra, Faisal added. The agreement will come into effect at the end of September. (September 18, 2007)
