Paulo Diniz is named CEO for Amyris Brasil
Amyris, an integrated renewable products company, with a focus on providing sustainable alternatives to petroleum products, has named Paulo Diniz as chief executive officer (CEO) of Amyris Brasil. Amyris is a fully owned subsidiary of U.S.-based Amyris, which is charged with overseeing the establishment and expansion of Amyris’s production in Brazil. Diniz, is an experienced executive in the sugar and ethanol industry. His past experience includes serving as the chief financial officer (CFO) for Bunge Brasil, which is involved in agribusiness including sugar and bioenergy, fertilizers and foods. Diniz also served as CFO for Cosan, also in the renewable products industry. Diniz received an MBA from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. Mario Portela, who served as Amyris’s Brasil’s CEO for the past year will take on the job of overseeing all of Amyris’s upstream, global production and supply chain activity. John Melo, CEO of Amyris, states, “Paulo brings incredible experience and a deep understanding of the Brazilian renewable products industry to Amyris.
