Pakistan’s oil import surges 36% in February
The declining trend of oil imports in Pakistan reversed in February when imports of petroleum products surged 36% year-on-year. Rising international crude oil prices started impacting Pakistan’s import sector in the form of higher spending on oil imports. In February, total oil imports came to US$665 million as against US$490 million in the same month a year ago. Imports of both crude oil and finished oil products rose 87% and 13.71%, respectively.
