Pakistani Petroleum Ministry to follow SC carbon tax ruling

Pakistan’s Ministry of Petroleum shall abide the Supreme Court’s (SC) decision regarding carbon tax, according to Dr. Asim Hussain, the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Petroleum and Natural Resources. The SC verdict, which resulted to a decrease in the price of petrol by PkRs10 (US$0.12) per liter, diesel by PkRs8 (US$0.10) per liter, and kerosene oil by PkRs6 (US$0.07) per liter, is to suspend temporarily imposition of carbon tax on petroleum products.
