Pakistan unveils E10
As part of the Pakistani government’s aim to promote more environment-friendly energy resources, E10 will be introduced in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Produced by blending 10% ethanol with petroleum-based gasoline, this new fuel will help reduce the country’s import bill in the future. According to Asim Hussain, the prime minister’s petroleum adviser, 30 filling stations would be set up throughout the country for the sale of E10, which would be priced PkRs2.40 (US$0.03) less than regular gasoline.
