Pakistan introduces affordably priced alternative fuel

Pakistan’s Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resource, Syed Naveed Qamar, has said that the government is introducing alternative fuel at affordable prices to consumers. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of a car rally under the auspices of the Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association, Green Highways Project-II, he said Pakistan has the second largest number of natural gas vehicles in South Asia. Besides CNG, the government is implementing a comprehensive program using LPG and ethanol as transportation fuels. Under the Green Highway-II project, the car rally will travel to Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, China and Korea to create awareness and promote the harmonization of standards and code of practices along the routes.
