Pakistan imports lube oil from India
Exploring options to increase retail sales, state-owned Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. has had a breakthrough with Pakistan deciding to import lube oil from India. The first cargo of 4,886 tons was shipped from IOC’s Haldia refinery in July and the second of around the same quantity will be shipped in August. The value of the first order is around Rs200 million (US$4.31 million). The company is looking forward to more exports to Pakistan once its Panipat refinery starts functioning at its full capacity of 12 million tons in a couple of months. (July 31, 2006)
