Owner-operator of Volume Plus in NSW arrested over stolen fuel
The 54-year-old owner-operator of Volume Plus, the cut-price service station in Blacktown, NSW, Australia, has been arrested on a charge that he allegedly received almost A$1 million (US$1.043 million) worth of petrol for which he paid only A$0.50 (US$0.52) per liter from crooked tanker drivers. The drivers are working for the trucking company Scotts Transport and deliver fuel for Caltex Woolworth. The man, charged with 32 counts of the crime of receiving stolen goods, was released on bail, and is scheduled to appear at Blacktown Local Court on January 17. (December 5, 2012)
