Oil firms bid for AFP fuel, lubricant supply

Two firms, Petron Corp. and Balayan Refilling Station, participated in the bidding for the purchase of more than Php8 billion (US$183.49 million) worth of fuel and lubricants for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), according to the Department of National Defense. The project will involve the purchase of a one-year supply of fuel and lubricants for military aircraft and vehicles. The purchase of fuel would entail around Php5.76 billion (US$132.11 million), while the acquisition of aviation petroleum products and lubricants would cost Php1.98 billion (US$45.41 million). The procurement of lubricants for other vehicles would cost Php303.61 million (US$6.96 million). (November 13, 2010)
