Nova Oleochem to put up biodiesel, power plants
Mumbai-based Nova Oleochem plans to put up a biodiesel production plant and three agricultural waste-based power plants in Gujarat with an investment of RS225 crore (US$48.4 million). The company proposes to produce 110,000 liters per day of biodiesel and 7.5 megawatt (MW) of captive power or 2.5 MW from each of the three power plants. The proposed project will entail jatropha plantation on a 10,000-hectare land. It is set to complete land acquisition in three to four months. Plantings will begin by the end of March 2009.
