Nissan to enter South Korean market

Japan’s Nissan Motor Co. said it plans to start selling Nissan brand models in South Korea starting November 11 to win a bigger slice of the nation’s booming market for imported vehicles. Nissan, which currently only sells its luxury Infiniti brand in Asia’s fourth-largest economy, will introduce the Murano sports utility vehicles and Rogue crossover vehicles, said Greg Phillips, president of Nissan Korea Co., in a statement. “Preparations are smoothly underway,” Philips said, adding that Nissan had completed building dealer networks in five wealthy areas across the nation. Nissan had originally said it would introduce three models to the South Korean market, comprising of the Murano, the Rogue and the Altima sedans. (September 2, 2008)
