NIS opens first petrol station in Belgrade
Gazprom Neft’s subsidiary, NIS (Naftna Industrija Srbije), opened its first petrol station in Belgrade under the Gazprom brand. As part of a large-scale project, a new premium retail chain of Gazprom gas stations will be built throughout the Balkans, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania. The Gazprom network across the Balkans is expected to reach 100 petrol stations, which will all be managed by NIS by the end of 2013. The petrol stations will supply premium fuel, which conforms to Euro-5 emission standards. High-quality lubricants and other related products will also be sold at the petrol stations.
“The development of new retail network of petrol stations in the Balkan market will capitalize the benefits of the GAZPROM brand, which is well-known in Europe. We meet consumer demands by offering high-quality fuel produced in our plants that conforms to European standards. I am confident that the combination of these factors and a brand that is easily recognizable will make GAZPROM petrol stations one of the leading retail networks in the Balkans,” said Alexey Miller, chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee.
NIS is involved in the exploration, production, and refining of oil and gas, and in the marketing of petroleum products. It is one of the biggest, vertically integrated oil and gas companies in southeastern Europe. (December 21, 2012)
