Nigerian lube blenders express concern over rising rate of adulterated and counterfeit products

Lubricant manufacturers expressed concern over the rate at which adulterated and counterfeit lubricants are being sold in Nigeria.
Alhaji Ado Mustapha Muhammed, chairman and CEO of AMMASCO Oil, who is also vice chairman of the Lubricant Producers Association of Nigeria (LUPAN), together with other members of the executive council, paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Joseph Odumodu, to express their concern over this development.
Odumodu, while receiving the members in his office, said that SON was embarking on the registration of all products, including lubricants, within the next few months.
“There are standards and we are ready to enforce it, I can assure you. We have launched the zero tolerance campaign, and for us it is a new beginning,” Odumodu said.
